European Commission’s investigation into Hungary’s controversial media law has not even BEGUN – because Hungary has not handed over details!

Remember when Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán dithered and said that Hungary is willing to “remedy” the country’s terrible new media law IF the European Commission finds that it is not in compliance with European Union law?

Well, the European Commission cannot even begin their in-depth legal investigation of the media law because….wait for it….Hungary has not yet handed over the full details of the law.  That’s right, folks.  After all, how can a law that no one knows (but must still obey) be illegal?

Apparently, Orbán has given assurances to the Commission that it will hand over the details in the next few days.  We continue to wait for it with bated breath…
