Mr. Orban’s Memory is Cloudy at Best

In Uncategorized on January 4, 2011 at 1:06 pm

This morning the New York Times printed an excellent article on the limits of Prime Minister Orban’s capacity to remember the past.

“Mr. Orban may have forgotten, but Hungary’s tragic history has taught its people that a free press –and a checked government– cannot be taken for granted.”

Mr. Orban Forgets is not only a true statement, it’s a good read.

  1. The international, and now national press, will continue to be focussed on the broader censorship and economic issues, and I’m afraid what is/will be going on in the cultural will be overlooked.
Hungarian Watch will be a place to hear those Hungarian voices.
    Stay tuned.
